Environmental Education and Disaster Program for Children

Since June 2018, we have back to started an environmental education and disaster program in elementary school. This time, we partner with SDN 1 and SDN 5 located around our office in Kemenuh. In addition to students in grades 4, 5 and 6, some teachers are also involved as participants.

The series of activities in this program include garden management, tree planting, learning using creative educational media (comics, films and activity books) and introduction to permaculture workshops for teachers. By that, the program is encouraged to help students know the ways and benefits of a healthy and sustainable environment. At the same time, students are also encouraged to start learning the importance of preparedness for potential disasters, both at school and at home. (Ed)
