About Masyarakat Penanggulangan Bencana Indonesia (MPBI)
MPBI (Community Disaster Preparedness Organization) is based in Jakarta. It was founded on March 3, 2003.

This Indonesian association of professionals in the area of Disaster Management is having wide-reaching impacts on the development of a more appropriate disaster management strategy for Indonesia.

The association facilitates regular workshops and seminars in various areas of Indonesia to address the complex and urgent issues relating to the development of effective disaster preparedness programs for Indonesia.

It supports communication & networking amongst various organizations working in the fields of disaster management, and is helping to solve problems relating to Disaster Mitigation.

Yayasan IDEP Foundation is a member of MPBI and receives regular support from the society for its Community Based Crisis Response Program.

Masyarakat Penanggulangan Bencana Indonesia (MPBI)’s Mission

MPBI supports the prosperity of the Indonesian people and will become a neutral partner for everyone involve in the disaster mitigation plans that are being professionally conducted and are in alignment with sound science and practice.
Masyarakat Penanggulangan Bencana Indonesia (MPBI)’s Activities

  1. To develop a disaster mitigation plan through education, research and hands-on practice

  2. To increase communication and cooperation between members

  3. To build communication and cooperation among institutions and organizations in Indonesia, as well as abroad

  4. To devise and implement the principles of the disaster mitigation plan

  5. To disseminate information regarding disaster mitigation planning to Indonesian communities

  6. To help solve problems relating to Disaster Mitigation
