Job Description

IT & Database Senior Officer is responsible for:

  1. IDEP’s IT System support for staffs both in headquarter [Ubud] and remote offices
  2. the maintenance of existing IT system & infrastructure, and the development of new IT system & infrastructure 
  3. the development & delivery of IT workshops & trainings for IDEP staff
  4. Manage Operatin of Idep Database

Those services are designed to enhance the overall operation & productivity of IDEP’s projects & departments.

 

Qualifications
  • Commitment to IDEP’s mission and vision 
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in managing staff, budgets and programs /projects
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills [oral and written]
  • Ability to performed under general direction, self motivated, and organized 
  • Strong attention to details
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken Indonesian and English 
  • Significant understanding of working in a cross-cultural environment
  • A high level of proficiency in using standard computer applications [email, Word, Excel, Power Point, Mac, Linux, Windows, Internet system operation] 
  • Ability to work under pressure and beyond business hours on occasion if necessary
  • Ability to perform responsibilities in both the office and outreach environments
  • Minimum 3 years IT experience (Macintosh OS preferable)

Skills, knowledge, experience requirements:
  • Active, cheerful & have good communication skills
  • Have good writing skills
  • Having an interest in environmental, climate and water issues
  • Have a strong desire to learn social media and campaign strategies
  • Has the ability to desire to deepen design skills
  • Familiarity with standard Media software (iView MediaPro, Picassa, Photoshop, etc)
  • Obtain a photography skill is preferable
  • Strong attention to details, and good researching and writing skills
  • Good communications skills, spoken and written English Self-driven, results oriented, natural forward planner
  • Proven self management skills including time management, problem solving and priority setting, capable of working productively and efficiently with minimum supervision, able to coordinate a large volume of different types of work.
  • Able to display cultural sensitivity, flexibility and adaptability within a complex, multi-cultural working environment

Overview: The Virtual Volunteer may be charged with a variety of duties, depending upon their experience and specific skills set. We have openings for translation volunteers specializing in translations from Indonesian to English or from English to Indonesian. We also have opportunities for Virtual Editors for either straight Indonesian or English language.
