Thursday (21/4), Nusa Dua – For the first time IDEP Foundation were invited to attend the Global CSR Summit and Award that has lasted for eight consecutive years. The event was organized in order to open up space for large companies in Asia Pacific especially Indonesia to discussed about the importance of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibilities) as a step to build the business sectors of society. 200 companies as well as several non-governmental organizations attended the meeting.
The event titled ‘The 8th Annual Global CSR Summit and Awards 2016’, held at The Laguna Luxury Spa and Resort, ITDC, Nusa Dua as a place for participants to meet and discuss about greater CSR program. The main topic of this meeting is how the CSR program can anticipate social challenges as well as the environment is also the responsibility of the company.
Yosephine Avi Rembulan, IDEP Resource Development Coordinator, was invited as a panelist in one of the panel discussion in this meeting. With the main topic of ‘Community Transformation Challenge 2016 and Beyond – From Poverty Alleviation to Viable & Sustainable Communities’, Avi said much about how the company CSR program that collaborate with NGO have to be able to touch the society deeper. “We empower agents of change to make sure that our actions within communities are sustainable when we leave.” said Avi as the closure of this session.
IDEP Foundation has strict regulations in collaboration with the company’s CSR program, where the most important criteria is the company is not involved in the destruction of the environment and have high integrity in the maintenance of the environment and community empowerment. IDEP is very open to any initiatives related to environmental conservation, conservation of groundwater, as well as emergency response actions that are initiated by the business through its CSR program.
