We cooperate since last year with the SD2 Lebih elementary school in Gianyar area with the great support of the Luna2 Hotel, from Kerobokan, Bali and implemented a program including trainings and education on organic and non-organic waste management at the school; paper recycling methods, and the advocacy and integration of the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).

IDEP’s mission to empower communities and create a strong awareness about the environment has a successful education project going on.

Not only environmental trainings, but also disaster risk preparedness is included in the program. The SD2 Lebih elementary school is located a very high-prone disaster area (only 400m from the beach). We know that being prepared in case of disasters saves lives. The program ensures that the school is ready to respond in the event of an emergency; through risk map and evacuation plan development.
