Lombok Earthquake Emergency Response

Together with IDEP Foundation you can help emergency response of Lombok Earthquake evacuees to meet their survival needs during the evacuation.

On July 29, 2018, earthquakes occurred in Lombok, Bali, and Sumbawa with a magnitude of 6.4 at around 6:47 pm. The quake was centered 28 km northwest of East Lombok or 47 km northeast of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) at a depth of 24 km. This earthquake is not a potential tsunami.

Earthquake shocks were felt in East Lombok, North Lombok, Mataram, Central Lombok, West Sumbawa, Sumbawa Besar, Denpasar, Kuta, Nusa Dua, Karangasem, Singaraja, Gianyar and Bima. Here is the update below:

Update until 23:00 WITA (29/7) 213 aftershocks have been recorded (Source: BMKG).
Update until 18:00 WITA (29/7), 14 victims have been killed (10 victims from East Lombok and 4 victims from North Lombok), 162 people injured and about 1000 units of houses damaged (Source: IDEP field staff and BMKG).

The most affected areas are the Sembalun and Sambelia sub-districts located in East Lombok and the Bayan sub-district in North Lombok Regency.For the emergency response, we are currently raising aid to help the evacuees in Bayan sub-district, North Lombok regency. Communities in this area have evacuated to open areas and because of the continuing aftershocks they prefer to stay outdoors.
