Why are earthquake-safe houses important?

A large part of Indonesia is located in earthquake-prone regions. Earthquakes are unpreventable occurrences, but the impact, damage, and losses can be reduced.

Many injuries and fatalities occur not due to the earthquake, but the man-made constructions and buildings destroyed during the quake.

Why are buildings easily destroyed by quakes?

The construction of buildings often dismisses the importance of construction material quality, building structure, and earthquake safe construction techniques as main factors for a safe and durable building.
