  • Bali Water Protection in SIWW 2022 – 3 Key Takeaways

    Bali Water Protection (BWP) attended Singapore International Water Week 2022 (17-21 April), Asia’s first large-scale water show since the pandemic. Along with the co-located event CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESG) 2022, the events attracted over 15,000 physical attendees comprising leaders in government, industry, and academia from around the world.

    Groundwater protection movement in Bali more increase after some community makes an association called Pasraman Air. There are local and national communities involved in this association.     For more than 30 years, the farmer community in Sendang Pasir (Bali) never found a clear status for the land they've maintained for years. However, the Right to Cultivate (HGU) from PT. Margarana ended on December 31, 2005. Then the Supreme Court's number 591 PK/Pdt/2018 on August 10, 2010, came out but didn't relieve Sendang Pasir farmer.

  • The Fate of Subak in the Midst of the Water Resources Crisis

    Every year Subak has been decreasing in line with the shrinking water resources in Bali. “After 2015, in my area [Subak Uma Lebah, Petulu Village] the water debit began to decrease and dry land increased by one hectare every year,” said Kadek Suardika in the Bali Water Protection’s webinar “The Role of Subak in Water Resources Conservation” on Friday, 27 August 2021.
